Registration Nursery
Mount
Carmel Schools run Classes from Nursery to XII. Admissions are done at
three different levels.
Time
of Announcement for Admission to different classes :
Nur & Prep Classes :
January 3rd to 10th 2011
(submission: upto 15th Jan 2011)
February/March
:
Classes I to IX
March / April : Class
XI - for external
candidates.
No
admission is granted in Classes X and XII.
(a)
Nursery :
Age: completing 3 before 30th Sept. 2010 (Born between
1/10/2006-30/09/2007).
The students are selected under the following categories:

General
category by draw.
-
Siblings
by selection.
-
Economically
weaker section - for those drawing less than Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum, by
selection
-
Special
category for Staff, Alumni and Christians
(b)
Preparatory :
Age: Completing 4 before 30th Sept. 2010 (Born between
1/10/2005-30/09/2006).
Selection is done by a test under the same categories as for Nursery.
(c)
Other Classes : Admission depends
upon the availability of seats in the desired Class. Children are
registered for various Classes at the school office usually in February.
At the time of registration they are given the date for the admission test
and also a copy of the syllabus. The admission test is held in Feb/March.
Names of children who qualify for admission are put up on the school
notice board within a week. Parents are expected to check the results
personally.
Class
IX : Only children from
recognized schools, producing a certificate of having passed Class VIII
and of clearing a third language in Class VIII
are eligible for the entrance test after the registration. The school
transfer certificate counter signed by appropriate authority is required.
Class XI : Registration
opens in March and provisional admission is given on the basis of marks
obtained in the Preboard Exam and an interview held in the school. The
admission is confirmed only after the declaration of the Board result.
The second lot of interviews and admissions takes place after the
declaration of the Board result subject to the availability of seats.
Students admitted in June are expected to attend extra Classes to cover
the initial one month's course before Classes start in July.
SCHOOL
SESSION
The
academic year is from April to March, consisting of two terms: April to
September and October to March.

Nursery, Preparatory & Classes
I, II, III:
8:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
Recess: 10:30 A.M. to 10:55 A.M.
Class IV onwards
7:55 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Recess: 11:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Saturdays are holidays unless otherwise intimated.
Class IX to Class XII may have Classes on Saturdays, if required.
